Ms. Ashley Cammick,
K2-K3 Homeroom Teacher

Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Cammick, and I teach the K2 K3 class. Please call me Miss Ashley.

I grew up in the state of Florida in the United States of America, but lived in South Carolina prior to moving to Japan. I have lived in Japan for eight years, living in Tochigi and Gunma before moving to Tokyo. I have a masters degree in education with an elementary teaching certification. As for hobbies, I enjoy going to concerts, watching pro-wrestling, and collecting postcards.

Mr. Varun Shinde,
K4-K5 Homeroom Teacher

My name is Mr. Varun Shinde. I am the home-room teacher for the grade K4 at Sai Sishya International School.This will be my 1st year teaching at Sai Sishya International School and I am excited to share my skills with the children. Teaching has always been my passion. I love teaching the grade K4 and all the exploring, learning and the fun we get to have.

 
I have a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from Canada. I also have a BA ( Hons) in Art and Design from the United Kingdom. I am a trained Bollywood dancer from Shaimak Dawar School of Performing Arts, India’s topmost School for performing arts.

Mr. Andrew Schulze,
K4-K5 Homeroom Teacher

Hello everyone, my name is Mr. Andrew. I am from Louisiana in the United States. I went to Louisiana State University and got my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I taught for three years in the Public School system, teaching 4th and 5th grade. I came to Japan in the fall of 2018 and started to work at an English Conversation School with Japanese children. I joined Sai Sishya in April of 2020.

A few of my hobbies include cycling, video games, and anime. I also study Japanese in my spare time. My dream is to watch Japanese TV without any subtitles.

I look forward to working with all of you. 🙂

Ms. Maria Van Eeden,
grade 1 Homeroom teacher

Maria van Eeden was born and raised in sunny South Africa and she enjoys being outdoors playing badminton, riding her bicycle, and taking long walks. She also enjoys playing the ukelele and uses it in the classroom to teach her students some concepts and vocabulary words. She completed her B.Ed Early Childhood Development degree at the University of Pretoria and has since taught Kindergarten, Elementary school, as well as High School students. She has been privileged to teach in countries such as South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E, and China. She has spent the past decade working at different private and International schools and loves seeing students grow in confidence on stage and in the classroom through poetry performances and songs. This is her third year being part of a PYP school and has learned how valuable the skills, concepts, and learner profiles are in the development of students as internationally-minded citizens that add value not only to their families and friends, but also the community. Maria is thrilled to be a part of Sai Sishya and has come to love every student and is eager to help them grow and mature.

Ms. Talisha Vernon,
Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher

Hello, my name is Talisha. I am originally from the Washington DC area, but have been living in Japan for the last 6 years. In university, I majored in Music Education and later Early Childhood Education. In my 10 years of teaching, I have taught from nursery school and elementary school students in the states to high school students in Japan. When I am not teaching, I love to travel around Japan and Asia with my husband and children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Juliet

Ms. Juliette Zaiser,
Grade 3-4 Homeroom Teacher

Juliette Zaiser joined us in 2018 after 9 years in international schools in Cairo, Egypt and in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has taught all grades K-12 but especially enjoys the young enthusiasm and eager energy to learn evidenced by 3rd and 4th graders. Her BA is in Theatre Arts from UCLA and her SSIS students have demonstrated skills in performance of poetry, songs, improvisation and short plays. She is impressed with the SSIS students’ creativity.

This is “Mrs. Juliette’s” third time living in Japan, as she came as an exchange student at International Christian University (ICU), and met her husband here. They returned a few years later, her two children were born in Tokyo, and she danced in parades at Tokyo, Disneyland.

The Zaisers have also lived and worked in Guam and in both east and west coast states in the USA. She maintains teaching certificates in 3 U.S. states. Mrs. Juliette has also earned a Masters of Education (MEd) in Special Education, is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) and a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT).

Ms. Tanya Martinez
Grade 5-6 Homeroom Teacher

Hello everyone! My name is Tanya Martinez. I am so excited to be teaching at Sai Sishya. This is my fourth year of teaching. I have previously taught in Nagasaki and in the United States. I have taught English, Science, and History to English Language Learners. I am certified to teach high school biology, K-12 English as a Second Language, and K-8 in all core subjects. I also have a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Curriculum Design and another Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me singing or running.

Ms. Bhawna Pant,
K2-K3 Assistant Homeroom Teacher

Hello, my name  Bhawna. I am happy to be a part of SSIS. Teaching is my passion and I love my students. I always believe in a positive attitude and encouraging students to grasp and question concepts. I’m patient, responsible for my work, and enthusiastic working with my students. I encourage students to speak up in class, for their good behavior towards teachers, classmates, and society. I believe that in the profession of teaching every day is a challenge to be a role model of what you want your students to be. Moreover, I never stop learning and relish challenges. Hello! I am Noémie and I’ve been in Japan for 2 years. I am from Europe. I speak French, Spanish and English. I specialize in logistics and office administration. I look forward to working with all the paperwork! You may get an email from me regarding any paperwork and attendance matters. Ms. Hitomi Iwabuchi​

 I’m a music teacher. We study pianica and recorder. 
Also listen to various songs and study rhythm.

Let’s enjoy together. I played at Junge Blaserphilharmonie Ulm as consertmistress(2010-2011),also Orchestrazentrum NRW’s opera tour in Montepulutiano(2014). While she stayed in Europe, she studied at TicinoMusica international master class and Oberstdolf international master class.
